Ctrl-F5 does not blank out the screen when locked, which can be viewed as a security issue…

No, you are wrong, Crtl-F5 does exactly what F5 did before.

Ulrich, pressing Ctrl-F5 in the Eclipse-based Notes 8.0(.1) Standard version locks the client but leaves the currently opened view / document / workspace / … visible. That is not what F5 did in older versions.
