Maybe we can replace designer files on 8.5 with 8.0.2? Who knows, what files we need to replace?

This is shite!
I run Domino Designer (and Notes) on Ubuntu with Wine and I have only been able to get the basic version to run on Wine.
And there is no Debian version of Designer…
And I want to do Web services!!! Shite again!

I keep my 8.0.2 version as 80% of my Notes time is designer time !

That is really a shame. I like working with the Basic client rather than the Eclipse client because of speed and it does not crash as often.

Designer for ND8.5 uses a lot of the eclipse functionality so it cannot be disabled.

Launch Basic designer first & then Launch basic notes. I used that way sometime back..

This was already the case in the Beta version of 8.5.
Same thing happens when you start nlnotes.exe (=basic).
Indeed a shame, and I miss it too.

thats a real shame as I use the lighter weight mode often with VMs and lower powered machines

does this also mean that there will be no designer on usb pen / nomad ?
