[Guest Blog] Possible showstopper Notes 8.5 upgrade Part 2

September 7, 2009 – 6:07 am

This is the first article from my guest blogger Matthias Götz

Martin Scott blogged at the end of june about a a problem with attention indicators in Notes 8.5 and  the mail policy
This blog entry found its way also to planetlotus and was discussed strongly.

In FP1 for domino 8.5, only scenario 1 was fixed, which is normally not the way you upgrade from Notes 6.5.

Normally you would apply a mail policy for all users and then start to upgrade the client to Notes 8.5 as described in scenario 2.
So SPR# LMAN7AJL64 was not fixed in FP1; it is planned to be fixed in 8.5.1 and with a interim fix for 8.5 FP1. Until now nothing is available on fixcentral and no new information in the technote. BUT the hotfix is available and I got it for download on friday afternoon.

The fix is for 85HF398_W64.exe and 19566592 bytes big and for 85HF676_W32.exe and 25870336 bytes big. So get out and get this fix for your servers.

Beside the technote here is an additional resource for a workaround if you already ran into this problem –>

Matthias Götz
