I have recently upgraded my Teamstudio Tools to version E26. As of this version, Teamstudio CIAO! now integrates with the Designer and you can check-out / check-in design elements directly from within the Domino Designer.
Right-click on a design element will show Teamstudio CIAO! options in the context menue.
Not only that, but if you open an element & start typing, you are *immediately* prompted to check out.
The “Would you like to check out…” prompt is the most annoying thing in the world. How do you turn it off?
If I can’t then I will go back to ed25.
Antony, why would you not want to be reminded to check out and protect your element?
This “check out as you start typing” is a last chance situation to stop others working on the element while you do. Of course it would be nice to check out the element with no prompting, but then when and where would you enter your comments to advise your colleagues, managers, auditors etc why the element is being worked on.
Better practice would be to check out from a right click in the navigator on the left and avoid the issue in question anyway.
