DAOS catalog cannot be updated
March 14, 2009 – 3:14 pmI have upgraded 4 of our production servers to Domino 8.5 during the last 2 weeks and yesterday I enabled DAOS on one machine. Occasionally I see the following entry on the console
![]()
Unfortunately, this is the only hint that something seems to be wrong. But I cannot locate the problem. It would be great if an error message could be more verbose and says where the exact problem is. I’m running 3 parallel compact tasks at the moment.
Despite of this error message the compact task works fine and more and more data is written to the DAOS repository.

Interesting… this is the same message shown by the Domino Web Server when you try to open a document and the view or form isn’t found. If a compact doesn’t fix things, I’d open a ticket with support.

I’ ve stopped the server and deleted daoscat.nsf. After the server restarts, daoscat has been recreated and resynced.
Then i compacted some more databases and the message did not occur …
Will see tomorrow if this was the solution.
I could not find any problems with the databases where the error occurred.
About document was available as well as a default view. No problem to open the databases with a browser.
When the error will show again, I will create a ticket with IBM support.
