ODS52 available in Notes & Domino Release 9.0.1

October 29, 2013 – 9:05 am

This new ODS prevents data corruption that can occur only under very rare certain circumstance for medium and strong encrypted databases. A temporary solution has already been built into  8.5.3 and 9.0.

Starting with 9.0.1, the issue has been fixed permanently.

Once a Notes Client or Domino Server has been upgraded to 9.0.1, set CREATE_R9_DATABASES=1 in notes.in and the next copy style compact of the database will upgrade the database to ODS52 and the encrypted databases will no longer be exposed to this very rare corruption.

  2. Thanks for the what’s new info.
You also can consider NSF_UpdateODS=1 which, according to IBM, always updates to the most recent ODS level for the running release so you won’t need to update the ini setting after each major upgrade (in case you always prefer to run the latest and greatest).

  4. Why not mention here, you were talking about Notes client too in the article…
Said that, has one ever tried NSF_UpgradeODS on a server, just because Create_R9_Databases also works both on server and client…

  5. NSF_UpgradeODS is a Notes Client only feature and not applicable to Domino Server. (Documentation / Admin Help is wrong )
